U.P. Fall Beer Festival Saturday

Like it or not, fall is making its way back to the Upper Peninsula.

That means the return of the U.P. Fall Beer Festival.

The Michigan Brewers Guild is bringing the festival back to Marquette for its fourth year.

Work crews were setting up the tents and booths at Mattson Lower Harbor Park this afternoon.

The festival takes place tomorrow from 1 to 6 pm.

Scott Graham, the executive director of the Michigan Brewers Guild, says they’re expecting close to 2,500 people to come through the gates tomorrow, so it’s become a major event drawing visitors to the area.

Tickets cost $30 if purchased in advance.

There should still be some tickets available tomorrow at the gate.

If so, they’ll cost $35 each.

Graham says they’re expecting 37 breweries to be on hand with about 200 varieties of beer to sample.

The U.P. brewers on hand should include Blackrocks, Ore Dock and the Vierling of Marquette, Jasper Ridge of Ishpeming, the Keweenaw Brewing Company from Houghton and the Sault Brewing Company from Sault Ste. Marie.
