Houghton-Hancock Summer Celebration
The biggest celebration of the summer in Houghton–Hancock is underway.
Bridgefest and seafoodFfest run at the same time along the waterfront of the Portage Canal. Thousands of people are expected to come and enjoy the great seafood choices, events and music. Dinners include lobster, lake trout, broiled shrimp, and more.
There’s plenty of fun for people of all ages, including games for the kids and face painting. A parade through downtown signaled the official start of the party that lasts all weekend. Fireworks are set to go off saturday night at dusk and organizers say they will go on whether it rains or not.
Music for the fireworks will be broadcasted on 97.7 The Wolf.
Bridgefest is sponsored by The Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce and Seafood Fest is put on by The Houghton Rotary Club.
