Shirts and Skins Exhibition at Finlandia
Art can take many forms, and it can take a stand.
ABC 10 Keweenaw Bureau reporter Rick Allen shows us how a new exhibit is doing just that.
A unique display of art was put on exhibit at Finlandia University’s Reflection Gallery in Hancock.
Artist Margaret Parker used old T–shirts to express her emotions and views on topics such as war and torture to create the Shirts and Skins Collection.
Parker says she began to realize early on in life what impact using T–shirts to create art could have on people.
The inspiration for Parker doesn’t always come with the first initial cuts, but the piece begins to take on a life of its own as it’s created.
Shirts and Skins will be on display at the Reflection Gallery through November 27th.
