U.P. bank says “No” to debit card fees
Big Banks made big news this week when many…such as Bank of America…announced they were scrapping plans to add additional fees to debit card customers. The fees were said to be necessary to compensate for lost revenue due to new federal regulations.
Were customers in the U.P. in danger of paying more for the same service?
At least one bank in the Keweenaw decided from the outset to not follow the national trend.
Vice-President Human Resources and Marketing for Superior National Bank and Trust Judy Usitalo says her bank is always very slow to pass extra fees on to customers.
Other banks in the area held to the same no-extra fees policy.
