Senator Levin Makes U.P. Visits
United States Senator Carl Levin will make two U.P. stops this week. He give a presentation titled “Global Impact: Economy, Conflicts and Jobs” at Northern Michigan University on Wednesday, Oct. 26. The political science symposium is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. in Mead Auditorium in the West Science Building. It is free and open to the public.
Copper Country residents are gearing up for the grand opening of the Visitor’s Center at the Keweenaw National Historical Park. Senator Carl Levin will be in town to take part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday.
Senator Levin says this is a great moment for the area. Levin says the mining era and the people of it should be remembered with honor. He acknowledges that work done by the miners impacted more than just the Copper Country. The ceremony begins Thursday in Calumet at 10 AM.
