U-P Police Agencies Have Busy Weekend
Tune in tonight for ABC 10 NEWS NOW for the details on a weekend of criminal incidents across the Upper Peninsula. Here’s a preview:
Three teenagers are in police custody for the attempted robbery of the Superior National Bank in Chassell Saturday. Two of the suspects were apprehended within about three hours of the incident. An 18 year old man has been arraigned. A 15 year old male, along with a 16 year old female caught Sunday, are being held in a juvenile facility in the eastern U.P.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the recent attempted break-in of an ATM machine at the Miner’s State Bank in Calumet. ABC 10’s Keweenaw Bureau Reporter Rick Allen talked with law enforcement and others who have information about the case.
One man is in custody in Wyoming in connection with the armed robbery of the Northern Michigan Bank and Trust in Marquette County’s Harvey October 12. The investigation was aided by the suspect’s wife.
A suspect has been identified in the larceny at the Walmart in Marquette Township. The Marquette County Sheriff’s office has provided ABC 10 with surveillance video of the crime taking place.
At Sawyer, the Red Fox Run Golf Course is still tallying up the damage from a weekend vandalism and break-in. A number of tools are missing, other items are damaged and destroyed. You’ll hear from General Manager Geno Parlato about the incident.
High winds knocked down trees and knocked out power in parts of Upper Michigan over the weekend. A group of Michigan Tech students share their story of almost being hit by a large tree.
