Baraga Traffic Stop Turns Into Drug Bust
Two men are in jail in Baraga after a drug bust in the village yesterday.
The Baraga County Sheriff’s Department received a tip recently that drugs were being brought into the area.
As a result of the tip, they made a traffic stop shortly before 8 yesterday morning on M–38 in Baraga.
They found a large amount of morphine and a small amount of cocaine.
Deputies arrested the 2 men that were in the vehicle — a 32–year–old Baraga man and a 33–year–old man from Flint.
Baraga Police, L’Anse Police, and the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Tribal Police K–9 unit all helped out.
The men’s names won’t be released until they’re arraigned.
The Sheriff’s Department says that should happen tomorrow morning.
