From cars to camp
MARQUETTE — Just under $20,000 was donated from a local automobile dealer to Bay Cliff Health Camp.
Subaru of America on behalf of Fox Marquette Subaru donated $18,670 through the Subaru Share The Love event.
“We try to give back to the community in any way we can and we look for positive organizations that we think make a difference in the community, and in the world. Bay Cliff is a great organization,” said Fox Motors Team U.P. General Manager Randy Norton, “they do wonderful work with children. We actually have a couple of employees that have had children at Bay Cliff and we’ve seen first hand what the program can do for them.”
Bay Cliff Health Camp Director says that each camper costs roughly $6,000 in total throughout a summer. With that being said, donations like this go a long way.
“Our priority is always taking care of the children,” Bay Cliff Camp Director Tim Bennett, “and so all of these funds, 100% of the funds are going to provide therapy and activities for the children with disabilities that will be with us this summer: providing physical and occupational therapies, speech therapy, hearing instruction, helping learn daily activities, kinds of things we take for granted.”
