Arrest made in two-car collision at US-2 and East Hughitt Street
IRON MOUNTAIN — On Sunday the Iron Mountain Fire Department and the Iron Mountain Police Department were dispatched to a two-car rollover accident on US-2 and East Hughitt Street at 9:07 p.m.
The 28-year-old male who was driving a pickup truck eastbound on Hughitt Street failed to stop at the stop sign. After entering the intersection of US-2 and Hughitt, the pickup truck was broadsided by a second pickup truck going northbound on US-2.
As a result of the collision, the truck that ran the stop sign rolled over onto its side. The driver was arrested for Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol High BAC and taken to the Dickinson County Correctional Center. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
The Iron Mountain Fire Department and the Iron Mountain Police Departments were assisted on scene by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police, Integrity Care EMS, and the Breitung Township Fire Department.
The name of the driver who ran the stop sign will not be released until after arraignment in 95-B District Court.
