ISHPEMING — Events like the Ski race this weekend are not possible without the help of volunteers, and this race needs your help.

The Greater Ishpeming–Negaunee Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers for the Noquemanon Ski Marathon this Saturday. People are needed to help out at one of the Aid tents on the course.

“We’re going to be passing out some energy drinks and water and some fruit to the racers that are going to be going by,” said Chamber Executive Director Kelsey Reyes. “We’re the very first aid station, so we’ll be the one that they see, so we want to make sure we have a lot of volunteers helping us out, and cheering on the racers, real energetic, just trying to cheer them on and have a good time.”

There are ten volunteers signed up at the moment, but 15 more are needed.

“They would need to show up at 8:00 in the morning, and they would be there just a couple of hours, you might want to carpool to get a good parking spot, you can park over by Birchview School,” said Reyes.
