Tracey’s recognized as top new restaurant in Michigan

MUNISING — The reviews are in: one local restaurant was named to Buzzfeed’s list of “The One Restaurant To Try In Every State in 2018.”

Tracey’s, located at Munising’s Roam Inn, took the honor for the state of Michigan. The list is compiled using an algorithm based on the number of Yelp reviews for every new restaurant and their star ratings on the website.

The Roam Inn and Tracey’s opened just over a year ago under owners Tom and Ana Dolaskie.

“We always say that ‘hard work pays off.’ We know it does, and we hope it does, it’s just nice to see it on paper and to be recognized on a national platform like that and it’s great,” said Ana Dolaskie. “It’s humbling being on this list.”

The Dolaskies believe that two factors set them apart from other restaurants. The management and staff at Tracey’s focus on local farm-to-table ingredients and the team has daily and weekly meetings to talk about service and delivery.

“I think it’s paying off,” said Dolaskie. “I think the guests speak for themselves when they rate us top-notch. That’s what we do. We focus on service and delivery and we meet with our executive team on a weekly basis and we really try to hone in those skills.”
