Man dies after being pinned under mini van
ESCANABA — A man in Escanaba is dead after being pinned under a vehicle.
On October 28th, officers from the Escanaba Department of Public Safety responded to the 700 block of Charlotte Court to a report of a child trapped beneath a vehicle. When the officers arrived at the scene, they determined that a 29 year-old male was actually trapped under the vehicle and not a child.
The man was performing some mechanical work on a mini van. The man had jacked up the vehicle and was working underneath when the car jack slipped away from the vehicle, pinning him. Public Safety officers deployed rescue airbags and lifted the vehicle off the subject so Rampart EMS personnel could get to him.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. No further information is available at this time.
