19 year-old arraigned on sexual misconduct charges
CHIPPEWA COUNTY — An investigation done by the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a 19 year-old male. William Joseph Mastaw was arrested after deputies searched a house in Kincheloe, Michigan as part of a warrant following an investigation.
Mastaw was arraigned on five different charges, including three counts first degree criminal sexual conduct, three counts of producing child sexually abusive material, three counts of using a computer in commission of a felony, three counts of possession of child sexually abusive material and three counts of accosting a minor for immoral purposes.
The department received a complaint involving a sexual assault of a minor on October 18th. The reported assaults allegedly occurred at several different locations over an extended period of time.
The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Kinross Police Department and Sault Tribe Police Department are continuing the investigation to ensure that there are no additional victims.
