Senior Brigade answers important questions
NEGAUNEE — The Senior Brigade is helping our senior members of the community live their lives with a better peace of mind.
Senior Brigade is a program of the Michigan Attorney General’s office and Bill Schuette. Today’s presentation at the Negaunee Senior Center informed it’s audience about residential care choices.
“We are trying to work with our seniors to give them enough information,” said Michigan Senior Brigade Presenter Nancy Burgeson, “that if they do have to make a decision for a loved one as far as additional care they know what they can do for the best possible solution.”
The brigade will also cover other topics that many seniors may find beneficial as well.
“We want to make sure that seniors in the U.P. are as safe as possible,” added Burgeson, “I do have a love for seniors. I’ve been with the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Program now since 2009. I’ve traveled the state and I’ve met a lot of wonderful seniors and it makes me feel good that I’m making a difference.”
Another presentation in Marquette will be given Thursday morning at 10 a.m. in the Lost Creek Community Room. The presentation will cover common scams through the phone, mail and e–mail.
