Minnesota breaking & entering suspect sentenced

BESSEMER — The Minnesota man charged with breaking and entering in Gogebic County earlier this month has been sentenced.

Dustin German, 23, of Montevideo, will have to pay $1,999.81 in restitution as per his sentencing terms. He will not spend any time in jail.

German was initially arrested on three charges: home invasion, resisting police and possession of a controlled substance. He pleaded guilty to two lesser charges — breaking and entering, and attempted assaulting, resisting or obstructing a police officer.

Troopers from the Wakefield Post of the Michigan State Police were called to a B&E in the City of Ironwood just before 4 a.m. Central time on January 12th. They spotted German, who fit a witness description, followed his footprints in the snow and found him hiding beneath a tree.
