MARQUETTE – The Marquette Area Fourth of July Committee, comprising the Marquette Exchange Club, Kiwanis Club of Marquette, and the Marquette Fireworks Committee, is thrilled to announce the events for the 2023 Fourth of July celebration.

Food Fest:

The Exchange Club’s Food Fest will take place at Mattson Lower Harbor Park from Sunday, July 2, to Tuesday, July 4, between noon and 10 p.m. each day. Boat Parade:

The Boat Parade will assemble at the elbow of the break wall in Lower Harbor on Monday, July 3, at 9 p.m. It will make two passes through Lower Harbor, starting at 9:30 p.m. Afterward, the boats are requested to stay in the vicinity of the parade ending location until after the fireworks display, which is outside the ATFE required fall-out area. Additional details can be found on Marine Channel 12 at 6, 7, and 8 p.m. on July 3. In case of rain, the parade will be held on July 4. Fireworks:

The Fireworks display will be held at 10:40 p.m. on July 3, with a rain date of July 4. The fireworks will be launched from the Ore Dock structure in Lower Harbor and will be synchronized with music broadcasted on Sunny 101.9. The display will include fireballs, strobe-style fireworks, and lasers, which may affect light-sensitive viewers. Parade:

The Kiwanis Fourth of July Parade will commence on Tuesday, July 4, at 2 p.m., starting from the intersection of W. Washington and McClellan Street. The parade will proceed down West Washington Street to Third Street, then turn right and head south on Third to Baraga Ave., where it will conclude. Lasers:

The Marquette Fireworks Committee, in collaboration with Travel Marquette and Fresh Coast Light Lab, presents an Independence Day light show featuring lasers. The laser show will begin at 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4. This laser show will be the largest architectural laser show in North America and the area’s first summer laser show. The event aims to be accessible to all residents and visitors, including children, veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder, and individuals with sensory disorders.
