Stabbing incident in Ishpeming under investigation
ISHPEMING — The city of Ishpeming’s Police Department responded to 701 W. Empire Street for the report of a stabbing at approximately 7:57 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Upon arrival on scene, it was discovered that a 19-year-old Champion man had been stabbed in the leg. While searching for a possible suspect that had fled the scene, officers were dispatched to UP Health Systems Bell Hospital for a report of a male subject who had walked into the ER with several lacerations on his arms.
It was discovered that a 28-year-old Gwinn man had been stabbed four times. The 28-year-old had been stabbed at the apartment before fleeing the scene to the hospital. Both men were ultimately taken to UP Health Systems Marquette for treatment.
The incident is currently under investigation. The city of Ishpeming Police were assisted by the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police.
