Team Wireless helps kids prepare for school year
MARQUETTE — Backpack 4 Kids started in 2019 to benefit students and teachers across the Upper Peninsula.
Team Wireless’s overall goal is simple: lend a helping hand to those who need it.
“The goal is to help out children and families that are heading back to class and make sure they have one less thing to worry about for this upcoming school year,” said Justin Burford, Vice President of Marking at Team Wireless.
Red, grey, blue, all sorts of colors were available for kids to choose from on August 1st. Children got to choose what they want, parents didn’t have to pay, and it was a fun day for everyone.
“This is absolutely a win–win. It’s a win for teachers, a win for school aged children, and it’s a win for our communities,” said Burford.
Despite concerns with COVID–19 affecting the school year, Burford says Team Wireless is determined to assist teachers, parents, and kids as much as possible.
“We wanted to give back to our communities and really help the youth of the communities and the teachers of the communities. We know school supplies can be a challenge for some families and some classrooms so this is a way for us to help in that way.”
No matter what happens with school, Team Wireless has kids prepared.
The 10th student to email us at NEWS@abc10up.com will also receive a free backpack from the event.
