Michigan YMCA’S to hold Virtual 5k run

MICHIGAN — Due to the COVID–19 outbreak, YMCA’s across Michigan are conducting their annual Y–Run virtually.

Participants can take photos or video of themselves doing the 5K on their own and share them on social media using the #MIYMCA. Racers are recommended to sign up by May 31st in order to guarantee that their shirts and medals are delivered before the race dates of June.15–30th.

“During this time, we need community more than ever,” said Grace Brindle, Marketing Director at the YMCA of Marquette. “Michigan alliance of YMCA’s got together with the idea of hosting a Michigan–wide virtual run. We felt like was the absolute best option to encourage community not only on a local level but on a state level and even on a YMCA level.”

After you register, you have the ability to choose which YMCA in Michigan you wish to see the proceeds go to.
