Upper Peninsula Health Care Solutions will host forum to discuss resources and services for local organizations
MARQUETTE COUNTY — On Thursday, May 14 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Upper Peninsula Health Care Solutions is hosting a virtual event for the local healthcare community. This will be the second annual Marquette County Community Resource Forum, but this is the first time the event will be held online.
The forum will be centered on how the area’s healthcare organizations can best move forward while continuing to serve the community for the duration of the COVID–19 pandemic.
“This year’s theme is ‘Building and Informed and Resilient Community Collaborative,'” explained Janey Joffee, Assistant Director for the Upper Peninsula Health Care Solutions. “And it speaks to the current state of our ever–changing community needs amid the COVID–19 pandemic. So the forum will bring together community organizations to inform one another about available resources and discuss together how we can continue to work throughout the year so we can evolve and be ready to assist our residents through the next challenges we face.”
The forum goes from 10 a.m. to noon and will inform local organizations of resources available to them, how they can access those resources, and more. The information presented will also become available to them digitally after the presentation ends.
“We realize now more than ever there’s a great need for healthcare and social service providers to be made aware of resources and services across our community so they can best assist community members and making referrals, connections, and advice on how to access them,” said Joffee. “So we’re inviting community–based organizations to present an overview of their services and provide a rapid fire style presentation to provide attendees with a quick overview of service offerings and eligibility information.”
The event is free and open to local healthcare professionals, social workers, and any interested community members who just want to listen in. Event registration can be found here. More information can be found on the Facebook event page.
