No one injured in Ishpeming house fire
ISHPEMING — On Saturday, April 18th, at approximately 5:30 p.m., City of Ishpeming Fire Department responded to a possible electrical fire at 810 N. 3RD St. in the City of Ishpeming.
When firefighters arrived on scene, heavy smoke was coming from the south east corner of the building. Fire was upgraded to a structure fire shortly after arriving on scene. Additional units from the Negaunee City Fire Department and Marquette County Rescue 131 were requested for assistance. Fire fighters found the fire in the upstairs bathroom.
Fire was extinguished and building was checked for any spreading of the fire. The fire was under control in approximately 15 minutes, and fire fighters left the scene at approximately 6:45 p.m.
The building was occupied at the time of the fire and all residents were able to get out safely.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. There were also no firefighter injuries reported.
Assisting at the scene were the City of Negaunee Fire Department, Marquette County Rescue 131, Ishpeming Police Department, UPPCO and Semco.
