Marquette Mountain will open for the season on November 22
MARQUETTE — It’s that time of year again when winter sports enthusiasts are gearing up to get out in the snow or on the ice again. A local favorite ski venue is opening for the season this Friday.
On Friday, November 22, Marquette Mountain Ski & Bike Area will officially kick off ski season at 2:00 p.m.
Temperatures have been a bit warmer the past few days, but Marquette Mountain staff says conditions are about as expected and that they are excited about the amount of coverage they have for opening day.
Two hills will be open for skiers on Friday. General Manager Andrew Farron says he knows the surrounding community is excited for the coming season.
“We’re really excited for this coming season,” said Farron. “We know how important Marquette Mountain is for the community, and we think that we’re going to be able to do a lot better than we’ve done in the past. There’s a lot of excitement and everybody’s on board for a great year. It’s shaping up pretty nicely for this early opening, and we’re getting ready for an awesome year ahead.”
Marquette Mountain offers group or individual lessons for those new to skiing who would like to learn the basics before hitting the slopes.
Lift tickets are available for $20. A season pass waiver can be filled out online, and it should be brought with you to purchase your pass for the year. For season pass pricing, business hours, or to learn more about Marquette Mountain, you can visit their website.
