Iron Mountain woman arrested following two-car collision at the US-2 and Ridgeview intersection

IRON MOUNTAIN — At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, the Iron Mountain Police Department was dispatched to a hit and run motor vehicle accident at the US-2 and Ridgeview intersection.

The suspect van rear-ended a pickup truck that was stopped for the traffic signal. As a result of the accident, both drivers received minor injuries that did not require medical treatment. Both vehicles were westbound on US-2 at the time of the accident.

After the initial collision, the 35-year-old Iron Mountain woman driving the van fled the scene with the other driver giving chase. As a result of the investigation, the woman was arrested and lodged in the Dickinson County Correctional Center. She is being charged with a second OWI offense, leaving the scene of an accident, and a probation violation. No name will be released pending arraignment on formal charges in 95-B District Court.
