Personal injury accident sends three individuals to U.P. Health Systems Marquette

GLADSTONE — On October 24th, 2019 at approximately 7:14 am, troopers from the Gladstone Post were dispatched to a two-vehicle injury accident at the intersection of O. 85 and Rivers 22nd Rd. 

The investigation at the scene revealed that two teenagers in the same vehicle from Gladstone were traveling eastbound on Rivers 22nd Rd. and attempted to turn left to head northbound on O. 85 Rd. A vehicle driven by a male subject out of Perkins, was traveling southbound on O. 85 Rd. and struck the two teenagers were in his path of travel. The driver from Gladstone was airlifted to U.P. Health Systems Marquette by Valley Med Flight. The other teenager and driver from Perkins were transported via ambulance to U.P. Health Systems Marquette as well. 

Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the crash. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing. 

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Gladstone Public Safety, Delta County Sheriff’s Department, Escanaba Twp. Fire Department, Valley Med Flight, Rampart EMS, and Pro Towing.
