Two motorcyclists sent to hospital after being stuck by Altran Bus

MUNISING — A motorcycle driven by a 68-year-old male from Iowa was traveling east bound on M-28, with his wife riding on the back of the bike with him. When the driver approached the  intersection of Birch St., an Alger County Transit Bus, or Altran, turned right onto M-28, and did not see the motorcycle and collided into the side of it, knocking it over.

Both the driver and the passenger were transported to UP Health System – Marquette, where the driver is being treated for minor injuries and the passenger has unknown injuries at this time.

According to the Munising City Police, the bus driver is at fault and has been cited with a traffic citation, but the incident is still under investigation at this time.
