Woman stabbed at McLain State Park, suspect arrested for Assault with Deadly Weapon
HOUGHTON COUNTY — Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post responded to a stabbing at McLain State Park Saturday the 17th of August.
According to the police, a 27-year-old woman was stabbed twice with a knife. This happened after an altercation had occurred over a dog running on the beach. The victim suffered a large laceration to the abdomen area and a small puncture wound to the bicep.
She was transported to Aspirus Hospital by Mercy Ambulance where she was treated.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and lodged at the Houghton County Jail for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The suspects name will not be released until she is arraigned in the 97th District Court of Houghton County.
