One dead in duct work accident at AAM
KINGSFORD — On Tuesday, July 2nd, at approximately 2:44 p.m., Kingsford Public Safety responded to American Axle & Manufacturing after a report that a worker was trapped underneath some duct work.
Officers responded to the northwest section of the foundry roof, and led to the area where the duct work had collapsed by AAM employees. Officers determined that the employee, a 55-year-old man, was deceased. No name has been released and the incident is still under investigation.
Kingsford Public Safety was assisted by the Breitung Township Fire Department, the Iron Mountain Police Department, Dickinson County Sheriff Department, MJ Electric, Beacon Ambulance, Plutchak Crane service, and Miller Products and Supply.
