Covington man dies after falling off tractor

COVINGTON TWP. — On Monday afternoon, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Troopers from the MSP Calumet Post respoded to a residence in Covington Township to a report of a male who had fallen off of his tractor and was trapped beneath the machine.

The man was later identified as 84-year-old Thomas Disney, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The on scene investigation revealed that Disney was using the tractor to attempt to pull a stuck vehicle on his property when he fell off of the tractor, resulting in fatal injuries.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Baraga County Sheriff’s Department, DNR, Bay EMS, Covington EMS, Covington First Responders, L’Anse Fire Department, and Covington Fire and Rescue.
