UPDATE: Missing man in Marquette County
BREAKING — The Marquette Sheriff’s Office found the missing man, Dennis Frederick Pellinen, at 4:45 p.m. on Jan. 9th on North Rock Road in Delta County.
Sheriff Zyburt confirmed that he was deceased on arrival.
After investigation, it is believed that Mr. Pellinen lost control of the snowmobile and had a collision.
The sheriff’s office believes that both speed and alcohol were factors in the incident.
They would also like to thank the local in McFarland for all over their help over the last three days.
MARQUETTE COUNTY — Deputies, Search and Rescue, and Special Operations searched the area until 1 a.m. on Tuesday.
Many local trails and roads were searched with snowmobiles, officers on foot, several local volunteers and volunteers from the McFarland Fire Department.
A Michigan State Police helicopter was requested but due to inclement weather, the helicopter was unable to make the trip.
A valley medical helicopter assisted in the search, but the missing man was not found.
The search began again on Wednesday, Jan. 9th.
There has been no word yet on the missing man, ABC 10 and the CW 5 will keep you update when more information comes.
MARQUETTE COUNTY — The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing snowmobiler.
Authorities say 54-year-old Dennis Frederick Pellinen of Ishpeming went for a ride Sunday night and never returned home. Pellinen also failed to show up for work Monday.
Pellinen left his secondary residence on County Road 444 in McFarland around 6:00 p.m. He was driving a 2003 SRX Yamaha snowmobile, blue and gray in color.
He was wearing a black Carhartt jacket. It’s believed he was not wearing a helmet when he left on the snowmobile.
Delta County search and rescue is also participating in the search.
