Overnight conditions cause power outages
MARQUETTE — Strong gusts of wind from the storm much of the Upper Peninsula experienced overnight knocked out power to thousands.
On Thursday morning, UPPCO, Alger-Delta Electric, The Marquette Board of Light and Power, and other companies reported outages all throughout their coverage zones. Also on Thursday morning, Wright Street in Marquette from Ontario Avenue to US-41 was closed to through traffic, as the BLP worked to restore power to Marquette Township, including larger stores in the area. The power to the signal at the Wright St. and US-41 was offline -traffic was directed by police.
