Two-car collision in Marquette slows traffic

MARQUETTE — A downstate Michigan woman was hospitalized Wednesday morning after a two–car crash at the intersection of McClellan Ave. and W. Washington St. in Marquette just before 8am.

The Marquette City Police Department says 32–year–old Paul Noreika of Marquette was driving a pickup truck westbound on W. Washington St. and didn’t stop at the red light at McClellan Ave. Noreika hit an SUV driven by 26–year–old Brianna Cadigan of Lincoln Park, Mich. Cadigan was northbound on McClellan.

Police say Cadigan was transported by UPHS ambulance to UPHS Marquette for injuries that were not life–threatening. Noreika was shown at fault and cited for a red–light violation.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The Marquette Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
