Annual Out of the Darkness Community Walk

ISHPEMING — On Saturday, September 8, the Annual Marquette County Out of the Darkness Community Walk will be held.

The location for the event will be at the Al Quaal Recreation Area in Ishpeming and it is hosted by the Marquette County Suicide Prevention Alliance.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. and events will begin at 10 a.m.

Everyone can attend the event and assist in raising awareness about this important public health issue.

Proceeds for the event will support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s local and national education and advocacy programs.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Michigan Area Director, Steve Windom, will be the featured speaker.

The community will have the opportunity to add to the “community scrapbook” that features pages of pictures, poems, or stories form loss survivors and individuals with lived experience.
