No injuries in connection with electrical fire in Escanaba
ESCANABA — No injuries were sustained in a fire reported west of Escanaba Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., Escanaba Public Safety was dispatched to 6507 H.25 Road, for a report of smoke in the basement of the residence. Upon arrival, officers discovered the single-family home filled with thick, heavy smoke.
The officers deployed several attack lines equipped with the Compressed Air Foam system in the home’s basement. Officers were able to get the fire under control. Escanaba Public Safety remained on the scene for nearly four hours.
Preliminary investigation shows the cause of the fire is likely electrical in nature.
Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by the Escanaba Township Volunteer Fire Department, Rampart EMS, the Red Cross, Delta County Central Dispatch and UPPCO.
