WELLS TOWNSHIP — On July 10th at 11:47 A.M., Escanaba Public Safety Officers responded to 3343 US 2/41 on report of a structure fire. Officers arrived on scene and observed flames coming from the second story north window. All five family members were able to escape without injury.

Officers stayed on scene for approximately two hours, and were able to knock down the fire using aggressive fire attack and Compressed Air Foam. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire may have been an overheated box fan in the north upstairs bedroom.
