Suspects arrested for Joyriding
IRON MOUNTAIN — Troopers from the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post arrested three suspects in connection to an investigation into an Unlawful Driving Away an Automobile complaint in Iron River, MI.
They were investigating an incident where a state police patrol car was unlawfully driven away. It was reported that on March 8th, a state police patrol car was brought to the NorthLand Automotive & Powersports for repair. After the business was closed, three suspects took the patrol car from the business for a ride. They then returned it to the business.
After the completion of the investigation, the report was submitted to the Iron Mountain Prosecutor’s Office for review. The case was then reassigned to the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office to avoid conflict of interest. The prosecutor authorized “Joyriding” or Unlawful Driving Away an Automobile charges for all three suspects. All three were arrested and released on a P.R. bond from the Iron County Jail. Arraignment is set for July 23rd at 1:00 P.M.
