Chippewa County man arrested on a 5 count felony warrant
CHIPPEWA COUNTY — 32 year old Brandon James Vert, was arrested on a 5 count felony warrant out of the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office.
The warrants are a result of an investigation by the Marquette Police Department from incidents reported in May of 2017.
It’s alleged that Vert and the juvenile victim met on a social media dating site.
Vert was arrested on the following charges:
Count 1: Criminal Sexual Conduct 3rd Degree (Sexual Penetration with person 13-15 years of
Age).
Count 2: Criminal Sexual Conduct- Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Penetration.
Count 3: Criminal Sexual Conduct- Second Degree Assault.
Count 4: Accosting a Minor for Immoral Purposes.
Count 5: Criminal Sexual Conduct 4th Degree- Victim 13 Through 15.
Bond is to be set at arraignment.
The Marquette Police Department was assisted by the Marquette County Sheriff Department and Sault Ste. Marie Police Department.
