2-vehicle crash blocks US-41 and County Rd. HQ intersection
MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a two-vehicle-crash at the intersection of US 41 West and County Road HQ in Marquette Township around 3:50pm.
A silver 2010 Jeep, driven by a 53-year-old Champion woman, disregarded the traffic light and entered the intersection. A 2007 Dodge driven by a 30-year-old Westland, MI male also entered the intersection. The driver of the Jeep struck the Dodge, causing damage. There were four occupants in the Jeep at that time.
Two subjects had minor injuries, and were transported to UPHS Marquette for treatment. The driver of the dodge did not receive any injuries. The female driver of Champion was cited for disregarding a stop and go light.
The intersection was partially blocked off for 40 minutes while the scene was cleaned up.
