Ishpeming vehicle fire under investigation

ISHPEMING — Police are continuing their investigation into a vehicle fire that occurred in the city of Ishpeming this morning.

At approximately 6:00 a.m., the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to Northridge Lane for a vehicle that was engulfed in flames. Investigators say that the car, a Ford Fusion, was traveling northbound on Northridge Lane when it left the roadway, striking several trees before coming to rest on the driver’s side.

No driver was located at the scene. The Ishpeming Fire Department and the Ishpeming Township Fire Department extinguished the fire.

Ishpeming Police Department, Michigan State Police, Bell EMS and Rescue 131 also assisted on the scene.
