Police considering hit and run in Houghton a domestic disturbance
HOUGHTON — A hit and run accident between a vehicle and a pedestrian is being considered as a domestic disturbance, according to the Houghton Police Department.
Officers were called to the accident on College Avenue near Michigan Technological University just before noon on Tuesday. A pedestrian was reportedly struck by a vehicle, but was reported to be in good condition.
The driver of the vehicle was a woman, and she reportedly had two children in the vehicle. Authorities said the driver of the vehicle and the pedestrian knew each other, and are considering the incident to be a domestic disturbance.
Police are still searching for the vehicle involved in the accident. The vehicle is a blue 2016 Chevy Cruze and was last seen heading to the Lake Linden area.
