KINGSFORD — A dumpsite for methamphetamine was discovered at a Kingsford park Friday morning.

At 9:30 a.m., the Kingsford Public Safety Department received a call from a citizen who believed she found components used to manufacture meth dumped at Menominee Park. Officers responded to the scene and determined that the dumped products were used to manufacture of meth.

Officers closed the park off to visitors and contacted UPSET detectives to assist in the clean-up. Evidence was obtained during clean-up that will assist law enforcement in determining who was responsible for dumping the products in the park.

Citizens are reminded that if they happen to find products they suspect are related to the manufacturing of drugs to stay away, then call 911 or their local police department.
