Two possibly facing drug charges in Mackinac and Baraga counties
BARAGA COUNTY — The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team discovered methamphetamine during a warranted search at a residence on Puuri Road in Baraga County on Thursday.
The homeowners, a 34 year-old male and a 34 year-old female were arrested a day prior for operating under the influence of drugs and possession of methamphetamine in Mackinac County by troopers form the Michigan State Police St. Ignace Post. While executing the search warrant, detectives seized several more grams of methamphetamine, as well as scales, packaging for distribution and a firearm.
The suspects are currently lodged at the Mackinac County Jail. Charges in Baraga County are pending review by the Baraga County Prosecutor’s Office.
Detectives were assisted by the Michigan State Police and Baraga County Sheriff’s Department.
