FORSYTH TOWNSHIP — One snowmobile driver was transported to the hospital following a personal injury snowmobile accident on Saturday.

The Forsyth Township Police Department is investigating the accident, which occurred on February 17th at 2:15 p.m. on Trail 32, approximately 5.5 miles west of Trail 33 in Forsyth Township. A single snowmobile was traveling east on Trail 32 when the driver was unable to negotiate a small turn on the icy trail.

The snowmobile left the trail to the right, dropped down a ditch, then struck the other side of the ditch, causing the snowmobile to vault over. The driver was ejected off of the machine and struck several small trees before landing.

The driver was then transported to UPHS – Marquette. The accident is still under investigation. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
