Road closures scheduled for U.P. 200 and Midnight Dog Sled Races
MARQUETTE — There will be some street closures in the City of Marquette on February 15th and 16th due to the Annual U.P. 200 and Midnight Run Dog Sled Races. Unless otherwise noted, all street closures will remain in effect until 2:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17th. Pedestrian access will be allowed on all days throughout street closure areas.
On Thursday, February 15th, Washington Street from Front Street to Lakeshore Boulevard will be closed starting at 10:30 p.m.
On Friday, February 16th, the following will experience closures:
- Washington Street from Front Street to Fifth Street will be closed beginning at 7:00 a.m.
- Fourth Street from Spring Street to Bluff Street will be closed beginning at 9:00 a.m.
- Lakeshore Boulevard from Mattson Park to Baraga Avenue will be closed beginning at 1:00 p.m.
- Lakeshore Boulevard from Baraga Avenue to US-41 will be closed beginning at 5:00 p.m.
- The northbound lane of South Lake Street from US-41 to Hampton Street will be closed from 5:00 pm. to 10:30 p.m.
- Front Street from Baraga Avenue to Bluff Street will be closed beginning at 5:15 p.m.
- Third Street from Spring Street to Bluff Street will be closed beginning at 5:45 p.m.
The detour route will use Baraga Avenue, Fifth Street and Bluff Street.
Washington Street from Third Street to Lakeshore Boulevard will remain closed until 8:30 a.m. Saturday, February 17th for the Polar Roll Snow Bike Race.
