Two-car accident sends 63-year-old to the hospital
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain Fire and Police Departments were dispatched to a two car personal injury accident at the intersection of West Fleshiem and Merritt Street around 12:35pm this afternoon.
A passenger car driven by 26-year-old female from Green Bay was attempting a U-turn on Merritt at the time of the accident. That passenger car was struck by a Westbound SUV.
The 63-year-old female driver of the SUV received what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries from the accident. She was transported to Dickinson County Hospital System by Beacon Ambulance for treatment of those injuries.
The 26 year-old from Green Bay was found to be at fault for the incident. Both vehicles involved sustained extensive damage, and had to be towed from the scene.
