Delta County residence sustains smoke and water damage after fire

WELLS TOWNSHIP — A Wells Township residence sustained smoke and water damage following a structure fire Friday night.

Escanaba Public Safety officers responded to a structure fire at 7142 K.5 Lane at 10:30 p.m. When firefighters arrived, there were already flames coming through the roof.

The fire was under control within 30 minutes and firefighters were on scene until approximately 1:30 a.m. The residence sustained smoke and water damage.

There were no injuries. The fire is still under investigation.

Escanaba Township Volunteer Fire Department, UPPCO, Delta County Sheriff Department and the Delta County Dispatch Center assisted on the scene.
