UPAWS looking forward to “Raise the Woof” comedy fundraiser

ISHPEMING — The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter wants to put the “fun” in “fundraising” on Friday night with their annual Raise the Woof Comedy Show.

The show starts at 8:00 p.m. at River Rock Lanes in Ishpeming and the dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. This year’s event features three comedians instead of the usual two. The event is recommended for ages 16 and up due to the nature of the comedy, and UPAWS Board President Amber Wetton says it will be a good time.

“We’re really looking forward to this year. It’s a really great opportunity to start the year off by laughing your tail off and, of course, the money goes to a great cause and it goes directly to the animals,” said UPAWS Board President Amber Wetton. “It’s a really great opportunity for the community to get together and laugh together and have a really fun night.”

Tickets are required for the event and there are only about 20 of them left. You can purchase your tickets at UPAWS or online HERE for $20, or at the door for $25, although there may not be any at the door if they are sold out before then.

Dinner is included in the ticket price, so attendees can treat themselves to the taco and nacho bar and candy buffet.
