Driver cited for driving too fast for conditions in single-vehicle accident
NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP — One Kingsford woman was cited for driving too fast for conditions after a single-vehicle accident on Wednesday morning in Negaunee Township.
At approximately 9:00 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post were dispatched to US-41 near Link Road on the report of a single-vehicle personal injury accident. A 2007 Ford SUV, driven by a 56 year-old female from Kingsford, was traveling eastbound on US-41 when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle went off the south side of the highway into the ditch. Upon leaving the highway, the vehicle struck a road sign.
A 21 year-old female from Iron Mountain that was in the back seat of the vehicle complained of minor pain and was transported to UPHS – Bell by EMS. The driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
