Man arrested on misdemeanor charges may also face meth-related charges

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP — A man arrested on misdemeanor charges at a residence in Forsyth Township may also be facing meth-related charges.

On December 5th, detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and officers from the Forsyth Township Police Department arrested a 36 year-old male for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant at a residence on E County Road 456. During the arrest, detectives observed components used to manufacture meth inside the residence.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and located numerous chemicals used to manufacture meth. One suspect admitted to manufacturing meth with the seized components.

The suspect is lodged at the Marquette County Jail for the unrelated misdemeanor warrant. Additional charges are expected for manufacturing meth. The investigation is ongoing and no names are being released at this time.
