Thrivent Financial gives back gloves
MARQUETTE — Christie Salo and her husband have been applying for grants through Thrivent Financial for the past six years, with their awarded grants they are able to give back to those in need.
Last year the Action Team project grant was able to gift free boots to people at the warming center in Marquette. This year everyone at the shelter was able to receive a pair of warm gloves.
Christie and her husband want to ensure that the homeless population can stay as warm as possible this winter as over the years they have seen the needs presented by the homeless population.
“There are many needs at the homeless shelter and I encourage others to call here to find out what the immediate needs are, and stop in, meet some of the people and it won’t take long before you’re aware of the needs that are prevalent,” said Salo.
A huge thank you is in order for Thrivent Financial for their services to the shelter over the last several years as well as other benefactors and donations that have been made.
If you are able to donate goods or services please visit the shelter’s website.
