Downtown Marquette parking gets a lift

MARQUETTE — It’s that time of year again when the Marquette Police Department along with the Marquette Downtown Development Authority will be offering complimentary parking.

The parking lifts off Thursday after 3:00 p.m. for Ladies Night and will continue to the end of the holidays in January. Folks are reminded that handicap and loading zones will still be enforced but in the afternoons all other parking spots are free with no time limit.

“It’s really just a complimentary offering to the community to come down. You know, It’s important to shop local. It’s important to share and support the community; local businesses, independent businesses because they really do support the community,” said Mona Lang, Executive Director of the DDA.
